Lowe’s left me stranded with a $300+ disaster and zero accountability!

I purchased the 2.5 car garage RockSolid Garage Floor Coating Kit in Dark Gray from Lowe’s around noon. This kit, which costs over $300, was supposed to include two matching bags of polycuramine coating along with accessories. Since this product sets quickly, it’s crucial to use one bag at a time to ensure even coverage.

Excited to finish our garage floor project, we started immediately. The first bag covered half of our garage floor. But when we opened the second bag, we were stunned—the color was completely different! After checking closely, we discovered the first bag was “Gray” instead of the “Dark Gray” color that was supposed to be in the kit.

Panicked, as we now had a half-finished garage and drying coating, we rushed back to Lowe’s with the second bag (opened but unused) and the accessories (all unopened) to seek help. At this point, we weren’t even picky—whether it was an exchange or a refund, we just wanted a solution so we could finish our project.

Instead, we were met with complete indifference. The customer service team called over someone who seemed to be the manager. Without much discussion or care, he bluntly repeated multiple times: “You need to contact the manufacturer. This is not our problem. We sell you the box, that’s all.”

For a purchase of over $300, this response was insulting and unacceptable. As a retailer, Lowe’s has a responsibility to ensure the products they sell match their descriptions. Pushing all accountability onto the manufacturer is unprofessional and dismissive, leaving us stranded with an unfinished floor and a completely unusable kit.

After leaving the store, I decided to call Lowe’s customer service hotline, hoping for a better response. The phone representative, to their credit, listened to the situation carefully. They seemed surprised and even mentioned that at the very least, we should have received partial compensation for the opened and unused kit. They explained that since the purchase was made in-store, they couldn’t intervene directly, but promised to escalate the issue with the store and call me back.

But guess what? That call never came. Not a single follow-up.

This experience has been a complete disaster from start to finish. Lowe’s not only failed to provide a resolution, but they also wasted our time and left us stuck with a mismatched and incomplete project.

To anyone reading this, beware of shopping at Lowe’s. If something goes wrong, don’t expect accountability, support, or even basic courtesy. This will absolutely be my last time shopping at Lowe’s. I hope this review helps others avoid the same frustrating and costly mistake.

Be well aware of the return policy for Lowes. (48hrs for exchange/returns, 30 days if you bought on a lowes card.) I bought a appliance set (Stove, Fridge, microwave, dish washer) from Lowes early so as soon as soon my kitchen rehab is ready for the appliances we can install then. Unfortunately my ordering early back fired. We only opened all the appliances after 30 days after delivery and found the stove had been damaged heavily. Tried to get help from Lowes but was only shown the 48hrs policy so now I am stuck with a broken stove. Next time I will think twice before ordering expensive items from Lowes.

We needed to re-schedule a delivery. But instead, the entire order was cancelled. I tried calling the Fremont store and was placed on an eternal hold. I am furious!. No one told them to cancel the order. UPDATE: I was finally able to get my original order replaced and re-scheduled for delivery. The gentleman who delivered it were awesome, very professional, and helpful. Thank you!

In brief, bought a dishwasher and installed, found out it was defective item since then it took another 1+ month to have a different dishwasher. Refund was short of what I paid.

Spoke with various different people over 10+ calls to make they complete their return process. Still yet, they could not get it right.

No one cares about the hassles they give me just to get a dishwasher installed. Nightmare!

Long story: Purchased on Nov 8 online with installation +compression connection kit and haulaway service.

A grumpy and unprofessional installer came on Nov 16 without the kit i bought, so took awhile to connect the dishwasher. The end result is leaking dishwasher needed to be replaced. Installer is gonna notify the store and have it replaced. Called Lowes to check status on Nov 23 & 27, no luck. Fine, it's a holiday time. Called on Dec 2, 4,&5 spoke with various people. I had to go to the store in person to purchase a replacement, otherwise Lowes won't refund the broken dishwasher they installed. OK, Dec 6 purchased a new dishwasher and spoke with managers and backup managers. All these hassles is their poor process of return and wasting my time for a over month to get it right. Missed the opportunity to purchase a replacement with a possible black friday or any discount had I been informed I had to purchase again.  Called again on Dec 16, 18 and 20 to check if they can receive the returned dishwasher from Dec 13. Some of these calls were 1hr long hold and wait. Left messages to the manager Gerald several times. Today I see my refund for the broken dishwasher from Nov 8 WITHOUT the tax they have have surely charged me before. Absolutely horrible experience at every level!

這次家裡用的地板,就是在這家分店買的,當時是發現我們想要的品牌在這裡剛好有折扣,而且整個灣區所有的分店當中,也只有這家分店的量比較多一點點,但其實也是只有我們想要的一半。

當我們來到店裡的時候,工作人員非常的熱心,雖然網路訂購的時候顯示只有22箱,我們一共需要41箱,但是工作人員非常的有耐心,不但用電腦搜尋而且還用手上的機器去尋找,最後居然找到了40箱給我們!而且,工作人員非常有耐心的解釋折扣的運作方式,還有店裡的點數累積的方式。

我覺得感到意外的事,協助我的這位店員是個白人,就是典型的美國人的樣子,我在跟他計算折扣的數字跟金額的時候,他很有耐心,而且數學能力也還蠻強的喔!就是有時候有多種優惠加在一起的時候,而且還有封頂的時候,我們總是會希望想盡辦法拿到最佳的折扣金額,這位先生聽得懂,而且他也很努力的一直在幫忙計算!真的很感謝!

而且,這次的購物經驗讓我覺得跟傳統美國店員那種不鳥人的樣子不太一樣,我跟他說了我要買地板,然後地板買完了都快結帳了,我突然想起來還要買別的,他很有耐心的帶我去找,也很有耐心的查價格,感覺上就好像是個人的專屬店員,非常暖心!
