I have 4 bookshelves from Furniture in the Raw that I have ordered at 2 different times over the years and love them, so when I needed another bookshelf I again went to furniture in the raw. I also ordered a headboard on 10/7 for delivery of both items. The receipt said delivery in 3-4 weeks. That time passed with no contact from the store. In December, when I still had not heard anything, I called the store. He told me my items would be ready the following week for delivery. I asked why it took so long. He said the items were complete and he would contact me the following week for delivery without answering why it took so long. The following week I did not hear from anyone and on Friday, after waiting that time, I called the store and said I had been waiting, I was promised delivery this week, I have not heard from anyone and no confidence that the furniture was actually done and asked for a refund. I was told the manager would call me on Monday.
I sent an email saying the same thing.
On Monday I did not receive a call from the manager but I did get a call the furniture was ready for delivery (at this point this was the week of Christmas). I emailed again I wanted a refund. This went back and forth, with Alberto telling me I cannot get a refund because this is custom… even though it is not custom, both pieces I ordered they have in the show room. He did say he would wave the delivery fee.
The items were delivered 1/15. The headboard does not have any hole with which to affix it to the frame. I contacted Alberto. He says they don’t do that “because all frames are different.” So now I have a free standing headboard I guess? Then I contacted him about the shelf which has an affixed shelf that is about 6” higher than all 4 of the other shelves. It also is missing a piece of trim across the top. I also reached out to Alberto about this and he said they “changed the style” even though the shelf I requested is still present in the show room and is the style I selected.
I am absolutely disgusted by this customer service. All I asked for was a refund of my $600 deposit on furniture I am certain was not completed at the time the refund was requested. I think then the furniture was rushed to get it completed and not quality checked. Every concern I have brought up along the way has been met with excuses.

Murphy Bed Installation - Would NOT recommend FURNITURE IN THE RAW on 4151 E. Speedway Blvd. They built and installed a Murphy Bed for us in Dec 2022. In the Spring of 2023, we tried contacting them because the bed was jamming when we tried to put it up. They didn't respond when we asked for somebody to take a look at it. We just left the bed down but tried again recently to put it up and it fell away from the wall and the pistons bent. No response on repeated phone calls to Furniture in the Raw so my husband went to the store to talk to the owner directly who said "Somebody must have jumped on the bed" (no, that's absolutely not true), "Its only under warranty for a year, and it would cost mininmum $800 just for the pistons", and when my husband said he saw that on the package they only cost $200, owner said "Well, fix it yourself then." The bed has only been used 4 or 5 times for guests since we've had it. I'm really disappointed in this local business, a business that we chose over other companies because it was locally owned. Their attitutude was unkind and unhelpful.

Enjoyed working with Alberto and his crew.
We needed a wall bed and wanted one made of actual wood and not MDF/particle board that you get on line. Plus we wanted to support a local business.
We experienced a small issue with the bed and Alberto was on it right away. He sent his guys out the next day to pick up the bed, fixed the problem in the shop and delivered the bed back to us in a couple of days. Can’t get better customer service than that! Hard to find that kind of customer service these days.
We will use Furniture-in-the-Raw for any future furniture needs.

I wanted built-in bookcases and a stereo cabinet for my home office, and our realtor recommended Furniture-In-The Raw. Alberto came out, took measurements, and drew (literally! In about ten minutes!) four different options. It took a few weeks for fabrication, and we had to visit the store once before they did the staining to check the stain color (which is very close to the existing furniture we wanted to match). Installation took less than an hour. They are absolutely beautiful, as is the stereo cabinet. I could not be happier with the way they turned out. Not cheap, but "You get what you pay for" is absolutely true in this case.

I ordered a cabinet and desk, but I wanted the finish to match a Murphy bed that had been in the room for years. It is white washed, but had yellowed some. They matched it perfectly! Their furniture is made of real wood. The owner was very helpful with many suggestions, which I was grateful for. The installers were great, very careful and courteous. I am extremely happy with my new furniture.

Furniture in the raw built a office and cabinets for dining area. I am so impressed with the quality and construction.
Absolutely easy to work with even finished early.
Alberto was very knowledgeable and the installation was clean quick and beautiful. Absolutely would talk to him for more work if needed.

Just moved to the area and our house has a large wall where we thought having a custom built bookcase and storage unit would be nice. I searched on google for custom woodworkers and found this place. We went there today to view the showroom and look at the quality of work. We were met by a male employee that asked us what we were looking for. I told him and he said, oh that would be a custom build. I said I figured and proceeded to show him a picture from the stores website that I really liked and asked if this was a piece they had done recently and he said that it was old picture and he then walked away. Shocked and stunned that he didn’t care to talk about making a custom piece. After standing there for a minute, we just left. I don’t know how they stay in business with that kind of customer interaction. They literally just lost out on thousands of dollars because the employee didn’t want to talk to us about making a custom piece. Maybe they don’t do that anymore but I wouldn’t know because he just walked away. Dumbstruck.
